About PumpSwap NZ

PumpSwap NZ is New Zealand's independent comparison service for hot water heat pumps, EV chargers, solar panels, and home battery storage. We publish indicative installed pricing for suburbs across all 15 regions, give straight answers about incentives (there are no government rebates for hot water heat pumps in NZ), and connect homeowners with local installers for free quotes.

Our Mission

Most New Zealand homes already heat water with an electric cylinder, and a hot water heat pump cuts that energy use by roughly 65-75%. Meanwhile NZ's natural gas supply is shrinking: reserves fell 27% in a single year to a 20-year low, and household gas prices are rising. Whether you are upgrading an electric cylinder or getting off gas, the switch is worth understanding properly.

We built PumpSwap NZ to make that decision easier. Too many homeowners overpay because they don't know the going rate in their area, get sold rebates that don't exist here, or don't get enough quotes to compare.
